Adapter plate on transmission

One of the most critical jobs involving the plate is aligning the electric motor perfectly with the transmission input shaft to ensure there's no vibration or stress on the coupler or bearings.

We drilled the holes to mount the plate to the transmission, the job of drilling the holes that would precisely position the motor was left to a machinist friend.

Here you see the motor's end cap bolted to the plate and the plate positioned on the transmission.
